This week over at The Octopode Friday Challenge this weeks theme is Witches. I love Halloween and October so I was excited about this challenge. For this challenge I used the Gloomsville Witch digi to create my inspiration for the theme. I decided to do something a little different from a tag or a card or even a tea cup (see previous posts) and decided to paint a plate!

To paint the design onto the plate I printed the image to the size I wanted and traced over it with carbon paper underneath to transfer it onto the plate. It is amazing what you can do with even digital stamps. And it was just as simple as painting it in afterwards.

It looked a little plain so I decided to add something round the edge along with a couple of cobwebs. After all it isn't Halloween without cobwebs! After it was heated it came out looking amazing!

There is plenty of other witchy inspirations from the rest of the design team so go check it out and enter your witchy creation whether it be a card or a tag or even a cauldron! (You never know) and you could be in with a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice from The Octopode shop.

Friday Challenge- Gothic

I am so excited about this challenge as I love anything gothic and Halloween and I just knew the perfect thing to do for it and with the help of Lilys new digis Goomsville.

The tombstone I actually brought last year for a Halloween Party, it only cost me £1 from Asda. What I decided to do was just give it a little bit of extra wow with the help of fake moss, lilys digis and some copper paint. and it looks completely different to what it looked like before! I wish I took a before picture now but it was pretty plain. Simple but instantly looks great! By the way the background paper I have used is a graphic 45 and I just can not bring myself to cut the lovely 12x12 sheet does anyone else have this situation with some of the papers they really like?

I also did a Pumpkin themed tag as well. Just a little bit of extra inspiration. The wings was a stamp from craft stamper magazine a while back. I did stamp them in black but they were just not noticeable so I decided to go over them in a white gel pen and it actually looks much better.

To enter the Challenge just create a gothic themed card, tag or even a tombstone! Also there is 15% off all Halloween images from the etsy shop with instant downloads! So you have no excuse to not enter this amazing challenge! The winner will receive 3 FREE digis of there choice! Also go check out the rest of the lovely DT Members inspiration.

=(

I know I keep saying this but  really DO need to get back into the swing of things of blogging. I get home from work and I just want to relax as my only days off are on Sundays and even them I am still busy tidying up the flat and trying to get some crafts done.

Anyway I have done quite a few Halloween seasonal swaps this week. So here is some little sharing time. I hope you like them

Halloween Sign

I was interested in the little matchbox swaps I have been involved in and with someone elses help we organised a private swap in which I would send her an Halloween themed matchbox. Here is the one I sent

I have yet to receive mine yet but I absolutely loved this swap. The matchbox was so much smaller than I expected but either way I think it is adorable I hope she likes it. My only issue is that I am a little unsure that if I did more matchbox swaps were would I store them so I thought it would be best to stick with more seasonal ones and then I can have them out on those holidays.

I hope you enjoyed these little crafts and I will try and blog more otherwise i will force myself to.

Vintage, Autumn and Halloween

Just as the title states I'm going to chat about these catagories starting with Vintage

Vintage

As read in previous posts I went to a Hereford Vintage Festival a couple of weeks back. It was very small but everything was really resonably priced. There was a few dresses that I was tempted to buy but I thought I better not as I have an issue with vintage dresses not fitting me so didn't want to waste my money. However I did buy 2 lovely scarves that I can wear in my hair

They are planning on doing another one in April and fingers crossed I will still be in Hereford as I break up around then for the easter holidays.

Also last week when I went to York there was another vintage fair. I'm sure they are following me which is a good thing for me but not for my bank account. Anyways from there I brought a up-cycled skirt and my boyfriend George brought me this very cute compass ring which sadly doesn't work but it is still such a cute item.

Autumn

I previously was part of an autumnal swap and I received back my packages and both of them was lovely. Americans love autumn and Halloween and you can just tell by these lovely gifts.

Everytime I kept pulling out a new item more fabric and glitter leaves would come with it. It was like autumn in doors for me. I'm hoping to make the leaves into a little garland or something just to show more of my love for autumn.

Halloween

Again more swaps I've been part of this time a halloween atc swap and here is my one with a very cute little mort.

I love this stamp! I should really buy my own though instead of stealing my mums every now and again.

Other

Next week a lot will be happening and I will try and do some pre planned blog posts tomorrow. Its Georges birthday on wednesday so I will be out celebrating that but I will also try and have a halloween themed week of blog posts. Friday I am hoping to start a craze called folksy friday so if anyone has any spooky halloween items please let me know.

Swaps and a little twist

I have been involved in a lot of swaps again this time and all of them had a bit of an autumn/Halloween theme. My favorite season and holiday of the year. I had to create 4 atcs 2 with a jack o lantern theme another 2 with haunted house and I just love them.

I think my favorite one is the pumpkin with hat. I don't have a particular reason why however but I just feel it works really well and might consider doing this on my Halloween cards this year.

Another swap I have done is an autumn themed swap which I have to send to two different partners. Both my partners have different tastes so it was a little awkward and what I should get them but hopefully they will both like there little packages

the 1st person was into crafting more so I stamped her some pumpkins and gave her some autumnal felt shapes

The 2nd partner was more into writing so I made her, her own autumn themed letter set to write to her pen pals. I was overall pleased with it.

Both partners also receive a ghost decoration which was a quick thing I whipped up but I think they look really cute and might consider making some more. But what does everyone else think?

As mentioned in the title I said there was a little twist. Well I got my haircut the other day and me and my hairdresser was talking about 40s/50s hair and how I can style it to fit with my short hair I have. And I didn't realise until she mentioned that most of that era women had short hair and instead of getting my hair poker straight we decided to go with a bit of volume and curl and I just love it! It's defiantly different to usual.

But there is so many things I can do with it that I didn't know about it. So I will be now investing in some rollers and hopefully will play a little bit more with my hair as I was starting to get a little bored of it being straight everyday.

Hope everyones having a lovely sunny day!
